The Organisational Shadow-Side Audit is a business improvement tool underpinned by management development activity.
Organisations and workplaces are not rational. At best, they consist of petty office politics. At worst, they are crazy places, where the fog of irrationality is difficult to penetrate. In the latter organisations, rules and logic take second place to personal prejudices, rivalries and playing 'games'. Perhaps they always do!
The shadow-side model can be thought of as a lens through which any organisation can be seen and understood in fresh and frank light. This self-assessment audit explains and reveals that lens. It shows how to diagnose what is happening inside your organisation, often beneath a veneer of rationality and 'spin'.
Once managers better understand the dynamics of what is going on around them, they can then analyse situations from this more informed, human perspective. They will be more streetwise, more able to take balanced decisions, and be better equipped to manage complex change.
